Oriana Camarena Mejer is a Mexican actress and filmmaker based in New York City.

Oriana Mejer grew up bicultural, between San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, and Brooklyn, New York.

Daughter of writers and painters, Oriana has grown up exposed to poetry, art, theater, and culture of all kinds. Traveling throughout her life with her mother, Valerie Mejer, and her gang of poets such as Raúl Zurita and Daniel Borzutzky - Oriana has been influenced greatly by poetry and it evidently shows in her work. Known for her niche style or pairing poetry, music, and intense editing into something she calls “video poems.”

Such recognition landed her as Dean’s Scholar at NYU Tisch, offering her a full ride scholarship. She is currently finishing her studies in the Collaborative Arts program. Her work has been featured in several film festivals, and she has toured some of her poem films around Europe and Mexico.

Previously she has trained as an actress internationally, at Stella Adler Studio of Acting, CSSD, RADA, UCB, HB Studio, and Second City. Upon graduating from Stella Adler, Mejer played Natasha Ivanovna in Halley Feiffer’s “Moscow Moscow Moscow Moscow Moscow” directed by Joe Goscinski.

Strengthening her theater and film community, Mejer has been featured in several indie film productions including “Nothing Personal” by Caden Martel, “Vampires” premiered at the MoMA, “Our Plumber” by Jeb McCormick, and “She Cheated and She’s Awful” by Stephen Konnovitch.
